Alternators and External Regulators

Question:

Will my alternator give a better charge output if the external regulator voltage sense wires are directly connected to the house batteries via at the alternator. I have an Hitachi alternator with an older style XAR external xantrex regulator. Thanks, Terry

Hi Terry,

Thanks for the reach out. Yep, your voltage sense from your external regulator should be connected at battery to help offset the voltage drop. - Jeff
