Our Generator Struggles to Run the Verismo Coffee Maker - Are We Damaging the Generator?

We have a 2004 Meridian, with a 6.5 kW generator, and purchased a Starbucks Verismo Coffee Maker (1500W).  With the generator running, start the coffee maker and the generator makes a pulsing noise like it is struggling.  Is this damaging the generator? - Hudson

Hi Hudson, a 6.5 KW generator should be able to handle a 1.5KW load without problem. Make sure you don’t have any other AC loads running at the same time. For instance, turn off the hot water heater and battery charger. With practically no AC loads on your 6.5KW generator the 1.5KW coffee machine should work without any problems.
