How Does the Inverter/Charger Work When My Boat Is on Shore Power?

Question:

I am adding a 2000 Watt inverter to my boat and not sure how that works when on shore power? Other than the inverter on/off switch and how and where would I connect the two systems? Thanks, Danny

To answer your question, most modern inverter/chargers will provide power to your outlet onboard via inbuilt bypass switches that then disconnect when shore power is removed if set correctly.
