How to size a positive busbar

Jeff, I'm a great fan of your channel. Could you be so kind to explain to me and of course other fellow boaters, how to properly size a positive BUSBAR? What needs to be considered? Thanks in advance, Guenter

Hi Guenter, thanks for the reach out all the way from Germany. When sizing a bus bar, you need to anticipate the maximum amperage of all the charging and loads that could ever occur to the battery. In most cases, we deploy either a 250 amp busbar for a very simple electrical system or a 600 amp bus bar for larger boats. Best to err on the side of caution. Cheers, Jeff
