Is This an Old-Style Battery Isolator?

Hi there, love Jeff's videos - learning so much! The attached image... is it one of the older inefficient battery isolators? My alternator is wiredthrough this.  Thanks! - Andrew

Answer:

Hi Andrew, yep this is a diode battery isolator. These diode battery isolators cause 0.7 voltage drop and should be swapped to a FET battery isolator.  - Jeff
